Sir James Cleverly cuts the ribbon to open the new Masefield Road Post Office at Premier, 33a Challis Lane.
The branch brings vital services back to the community after the closure of the previous site in 2023. Postmaster Kevin Thompson and his wife Sinthusha modernised their store and created space for the new counter, just 120 metres from the former location with parking right outside.
The branch is open Monday to Saturday, 7:30 AM to 8:00 PM, providing 75 hours of Post Office service each week. Customers can access everyday banking, parcels, bill payments, top ups, and on-demand travel money including Euros, Dollars, and the Post Office Travel Money Card.
With no banks nearby, the new Post Office is already proving invaluable for local residents and businesses.
Sir James said:
“MPs love to do a ribbon cutting. It means that something new or improved has come to the local area. That’s why I’m smiling.
“A Post Office really is at the heart of a community and customers are really grateful to have a conveniently located branch on their doorstep again for banking and sending and collecting mail.”
